When I crochet for babies and toddlers, I tend to be extra cautious. I scan the pattern for any hazards to warn the client about. I will ask if they want me to embroider eyes instead of using safety eyes or if I should omit something dangly (you get the idea) So I compiled some patterns I have found to be my favorite options for very young children. <\/p>

A classic loved by all babies and parents. baby afghans are usually best for stroller blankets because they are nice and heavy. A baby afghan makes a perfect baby shower gift, trust me, You can never go wrong with a one-of-a-kind blankey. for this one, I used the Red Heart C2C afghan pattern<\/a> and just did about 1\/4 the amount of rows. Octopus for NICU babies <\/h2>

Studies show that crocheted octopus’s have a positive affect on preemies in the NICU. It is said that the tentacles mimic the umbilical cord which makes the baby feel more at home which stabilizes their heard beat and oxygen levels. It also distracts the baby from pulling on their medical cords. This is such an awesome way for us to donate our time as crafters. Baby Sweater<\/h2>
