I buy so many crochet patterns every year. I have come to realize that just because you pay for it, doesn’t make it better than a free pattern. I am continuously shocked by the quality of free amigurumi patterns around the web. Below are some of my favorite free amigurumi patterns I have found and crocheted over the last couple years. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Baby Yoda (Grogu)
Harry Potter
I made this Harry Potter using this free pattern by Daisy and Storm. The only thing I did that was different than the pattern was that I added individual strands of yarn for hair and brushed them out to get this look.
Octopus Frenzy
Octopus crochet patterns are so popular right now and for good reason! I love this free amigurumi pattern by Left-handed Crocheter. I was originally drawn to her site because I’m left-handed as well, but I stayed for all the adorable patterns she has designed. I highly recommend this pattern. It was so easy to follow and fun to make, plus, my kids love them.
Bonus: Since you can use any color combo imaginable, this pattern is perfect for using up that extra yarn. Enjoy!
Kevin
With the new minion movie coming out on July 1, 2022, I figured it was the perfect time to show this guy some love. He looks just like the real Kevin! Kevin ended up being a lot bigger than I thought he would be which was a pleasant surprise.
Get your free Kevin pattern, by All About Ami Crothet, here! I did make a few changes to the pattern. I left details off the overalls and instead of an open mouth I just gave him a little smile with yellow felt
Totoro
Totoro was one of the first amigurumis I’d ever crocheted. I gifted this one to one of my friends but would love to make him again now that I’m more experienced. Totoro measured about a foot tall when using a 5mm crochet hook and red heart yarn. Crochet your very own Totoro by using this free pattern, by My Crochet Pattern, like I did.
Yoshi
You can use this free Yoshi pattern to make any color Yoshi you want! I’ve had requests for green, pink, and blue (pictured above) but I would like to make every color eventually. I did make a slight change to the pattern by using safety eyes.

Sleepy Baby Doll
This sleepy baby doll designed by Lanas y Ovillos makes a perfect baby shower gift. One thing I love, it’s so customizable. you can use whatever skin tone and gown color your heart desires. Secondly, it’s so soft! and finally, there are no extra pieces like safety eyes or buttons, making this sleepy baby doll the perfect baby gift. Make your own with this free pattern!
Pascal
My daughter was Rapunzel for Halloween one year. So, obviously she needed a Pascal to carry around. If you want to make your very own Pascal, here is the free amigurumi pattern by Lanas y Ovillos. I made a few slight edits to the pattern. I curled the tail up and sewed it in place and then I added two extra crest things, one by each eye.
No-Face
My BFF loves Studio Ghibli movies, her favorite is Spirited Away. Naturally I had to crochet her favorite character, No-Face. You can make your very own no face with this beautiful free amigurumi pattern!
Togepi
I left Pokemon off this list for the most part because I have a post dedicated entirely to Pokemon. But I can’t resist this Togepi pattern by Taikxo on Deviantart.com. It’s so well-designed. This pattern even includes a print-out template for the triangles and eyeballs. It is a bit of a tricky pattern overall, but the end result is so worth it.
Jellyfish
I have crocheted about 20 of these by now using this free pattern by One Dog Woof. The curly tentacles are so fun to make, and you can make them as long or short as you’d like. This jellyfish makes a great toy or decoration to hang from the ceiling. When I make this as a toy, I make the tentacles much shorter.
Unicorn
I have an entire post dedicated to this cutie, designed by One Dog Woof. This Rainbow Cuddles Unicorn is always a hit when I give it as a gift or whenever people see the one I made my for daughter. Here is the free pattern to make your very own rainbow cuddles unicorn.
